In recent weeks I had an intense “Month of\u00a0KDE<\/a>\u00a0Contributor” that began with\u00a0LaKademy<\/a>, the KDE Latin American Summit, and ended with\u00a0Akademy<\/a>, the KDE World Summit. It was a month somewhat tiring, hard work, but it was also filled with good stories, great meetings, new contacts, discoveries and, I can say, fun.<\/p>\n

This post I will write about LaKademy and the next<\/a> I will comment about Akademy.<\/p>\n

The second edition of\u00a0LaKademy<\/a>\u00a0took place in S\u00e3o Paulo, one of the biggest cities of Latin America, in FLOSS Competence Center of University of Sao Paulo<\/a>,\u00a0an entire building dedicated to studies and researches on various aspects of free software: licenses, software engineering, metrics extracted from repositories, social aspects of collaboration, and more.<\/p>\n

This year I and\u00a0Aracele<\/a>\u00a0were the conference organizers, and\u00a0I believe that we could provide all the infrastructure necessary\u00a0to LaKademy attendees\u00a0had good days of work in a pleasant and comfortable places.<\/p>\n

First day we had talks\u00a0of collaborators, and one that most caught my attention was Rafael Gomes on KDE sysadmin. It’s amazing the size of the infrastructure behind the scenes, a solid base that allows developers to do their jobs.\u00a0It would be interesting to promote\u00a0more this type of collaboration to attract potential contributors who prefer this side of computing.<\/p>\n

This day I presented a talk about Qt<\/a>\u00a0in Android, describing the development tools configuration in Linux, presenting a basic Hello World, and commenting on some softwares availables using this technology, specially the\u00a0VoltAir<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0GCompris<\/a>. The presentation is below (in portuguese).<\/p>\n
